Pixel 9 Series

On Tuesday (August 13, 2024) google has launched the Pixel series, Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL in India. The successor to the Pixel 8 Series, The new Pixel 9 will ship with Android 14 out of the box and guaranteed to give 7 years updates.

Google also increased or enhanced the Gen AI capabilities on the new Pixel 9 with Gemini.

Meanwhile, some of the in-built features will not be available in India like VPN and satellite SOS features.

Google Pixel 9

Pixel 9 the base variant phone of Pixel 9 Series 

Display

has a 6.1 inch OLED Actua display with 1080 x 2424 resolution at 422 ppi. Its peak brightness is reach up to 2700 nits and has a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The Pixel 9 also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the both side front and back, The Phone weight around 198 grams. It is IP68 rated for water and dust protection.

Camera

It’s main camera is 50 MP and a 48 MP ultrawide camera. It has a 10.5 MP front camera for selfies.

Processor

Google Pixel 9 also comes with a Tensor G4 processor that is Google self developed processor, comes with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage.

Battery

It’s comes with 4700 mAh battery that supports up to 45 W charging. It claims up to 100 hours of battery life with their extreme battery saver mode.

Colours

Pixel 9 also comes with 4 colous, Obsidian, Porcelain, Wintergreen and Peony colours.

Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL

Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL are almost same but the mainly differ in terms of screen sizes, most of the other features are same, Also Google claims that Pixel 9 Pro weights 199 grams while 9 pro XL is almost 221 grams.

Display

The Pixel 9 Pro has a 6.3 inch LTPO OLED Super Actua display with 1280 x 2856 resolution at 495 ppi and 120hz refresh rate. The display reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL has a 6.8 inch LTPO OLED Super Actua display with 1344 x 2992 resolution at 486 ppi and 120hz refresh rate and peak brightness is same as Pixel 9 Pro.

Both Pixel have same Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on front and back. They are IP68 rated as well.

Camera

Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL have 50 MP main camera along with 48 MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom and a 48 MP ultrawide sensor which acts as a macro lens too. Both the smartphones have 42 MP selfie camera.

Processor

The Processor of the PIxel series is Google self developed Tensor G4, with 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB storage. They will be among the first who receive Android 15 when available.

Battery

Pixel 9 Pro have 4700 mAh capacity battery on the other hand Pixel 9 Pro XL have 5060 mAh battery. Both Phones support 45 W wired charging. Well Google does not provide charger with their box.

Google also claims that both Phone will run all day easily and also 70% charge in half and hour.

Colors

Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL come in four colous: Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel and Rose Quartz.

The camera setup includes 48 MP main camera, and a 10.8 MP telephoto camera with 5x zoom and 10.5 MP ultrawide camera. Also two 10 MP front cameras on the inner display and outer display.
